As you can see I have started to carve in some rough details into the tree trunk with some hand tools, as well as cut out the door and some windows where the birds will be able to feed from. So far I have mostly been carving the foam with the rasps and knife blades. This type of foam can be carved with pretty good detail and sanded down smooth, but for this particular project I just need a rough hollow form to support the putty that will be applied onto it. Just broad strokes at this point.

Thanks for checking it out. I order the foam directly from the factory in huge blocks, if you want a smaller piece you can get it from a local fabric store or a craft shop.

Haha nah I want the big stuff you are using. Plus, the stuff you are using it so much softer and very dense. I used it a few times in a class in college, but 'twas long ago, and it was provided, not purchased by me.
