Now that I have rounded off everything that I needed to at this stage I am going to cut in some rough details. If you look at the wing on the left I have used a small knife blade to sketch in the placement of the feathers, the wing on the right has been taken to the next step. Now that I have established where the feathers will live I am making rough angled cuts into the tops of the feathers to give the appearance that they are overlapping each other, I will repeat the same process on the back of the wings as well. I have also chiseled into the top of the heart to begin to establish the arteries that will be coming out of the top. These are still very rough cuts to create the different elements of the piece, I am not trying to make anything look pretty yet. The dagger will be the last part to be carved because it is thin and extremely fragile and I don't want to have to repair it over and over again.
