Artist's Comments

This is as far as I will work the piece in it's wax form, when it is cast in silver I will clean it up a bit in the polishing process when it is much less fragile. hope this was helpful to anyone who is interested in this type of work. One thing that I think that is important to keep in mind when figuring out what steps to take in the production of any piece is that every piece is different, the steps that I used for this piece may not be suitable for another. I would also say that this is neither the right way or the best way to make a sculpture, this was just the process that I felt was best suited for me and this particular creation. I believe it was a successful one. Hope you enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed reading and seeing the process.

That's awesome. Are you going to keep this going through the casting process and to it's final finished form?

So much detail in so little space, this is what still ceases to amaze me!!! I'm working on my own little projects but I feel as though I'm at the preschool stage! lol

It was Awesome being able to see the entire process, I would like to see the full casting process if your planning on showing that?

You have very skilled hands my friend and I envy your ability.

Sometimes you just have to do a little jig. But just a little one.

Great to see this piece come together. I'm curious, do you have a reason for using the blue wax? When I did jewelry I used the green (hardest) since I felt the blue was a little too soft/bendy.

Of course, you could be using a completely different wax (color system) than I did, but I vaguely remember the two major brands both using blue for the soft. Just wondering on the choice of material. Any benefit on using blue over the other types?
